Thought Adjuster: “There is a certain wisdom in choosing the unexpected from time to time. Human beings constantly strive to formulate their own plans and chart their own path, always aiming toward goals that sometimes have nothing to do with true happiness. Making decisions from an exclusively materialistic point of view is like trying to swim with one hand tied behind your back. It is like letting a blind man drive the car.
The wise person accepts that not all of his decisions can be final and that not all of his solutions are necessarily the best. When planning a journey without having all the information, it is possible to establish a destination, but when the actual journey must be undertaken, many adjustments will have to be made in order to reach that destination. Yet sometimes, during the journey, new things may be learned, and new destinations may be discovered that are more beautiful and valuable. For this reason, a wise traveler will change his route without difficulty.
Many of your problems, both as individuals and as a group, arise from the fact that many insist on reaching a destination that has been established by others. This destination takes many forms: the personal idea of success, happiness, satisfaction. It is common for these goals to be influenced more by external agents than by the free mind of the individual. There is a large segment of the population that dreams of obtaining the same things: more money, more influence, fame, power. This fact alone should be enough to establish that there is something wrong with your educational systems.
But even when many realize that the goals they dreamed of were not worthwhile and do not bring true happiness, they lack the courage to correct course and begin the search anew. However, those who decide to reconsider their options and seek within themselves the guidance to reassess their path and build a new destination will have the opportunity to hear the small voice of the Father within their being, which will show them the best of destinations and the highest goals.
In the end, everyone longs for happiness—a lasting happiness that is independent of external circumstances. The unpredictability of the material world need not affect the personal equilibrium of those who build their happiness and destiny on eternal foundations. It is never too late to correct course, and the more of you who set yourselves upon the path toward true happiness and wise decisions, the better your world will become, and you will have truly become the architects of the evolution of your civilization.”
