The Scribe: “Recently we spoke about your learning from your very human mistakes and that in your being human you are incomplete, but that you have potential. We also spoke of your being likely to learn from seeing others ‘pay’ for their mistakes. Indeed, let’s face it, you would not be in any great hurry to copy another who might well be paying a great price for something done wrong. That would be dumber than dumb and that action would not appeal.

“So far we have discussed what you have learned by experience; personal mindedness that investigated whatever happened to you or to others and you have concluded in what sense you are now wiser than you were before.

“There is another way in which one can grow up, mature, but it is hardly ever recognized as to what the cleverly hidden origin of this process could be. It happens in stages and frequently the process goes like this: a young person, male or female struggles to establish him- or herself in a trade or a profession without wasting too much time on the requirements of others. Obviously, there are more urgent needs for the individual to establish the self at whatever career.

“Once established in the niche they chose to occupy they will likely find that they have more time for others. And yes, they come to understand they discovered Empathy. They can now take time out to look after the needs, the requirements of another. Chances are they will now congratulate themselves on having become a more mature individual. In effect, much of such progress I am here presenting to you is due to the thoughtful and never-tiring work of the Thought Adjuster (TA).

“So who is to be congratulated for him or her having become more spiritual? Is it the human? Is it the TA? Yes, don’t underestimate the TA. It hardly matters though for in summary — long-term or short — they will fuse and be one and the same.

“I am the Damascus Scribe, your Teacher for now until your Midwayer friends are released from their pressing duties and return to you. Adieu.”

Subject: “Time is Short.” – transcript abbreviated.

Message received by George Barnard.

The Scribe: “It occurred to me to inform you that there cannot be an earthly reason why Someone of God, as I AM, and some child of God, as are you, cannot be friends. I long ago noted that mortal man and woman on this planet, yes, almost to the very last person, have what one might call a self-imposed cast system notion.

“For countless ages those that both used and abused the power over the masses here classed themselves as different and above all others, whereas those others were told, and told themselves, to ‘know their place in life’ when there is absolutely ample humility to go around for One High and one low to be the very best of friends. Recall now how you were influenced and made to accept that I was merely some ancient bearded scribe inking symbols on papyrus scrolls in Egypt. Close, Damascus! And that was all planted in your mind.

“However, at that time for you to accept me at all, it was important for you to initially see Me as a friendly teacher and not to know my real identity until later. Verily, this planet is populated with those who from birth are endowed with a solid dose of systemic, watchful inferiority. And yes, that which makes you what you are today is all in your brutal planetary’s history. It’s important for you to convince all those you communicate with that no Celestial, and no, not even the Gods, are above teaching and befriending individual mortals.

“Do this, promote this, and promote it well because the time is at hand, yes, and time is short when your celestial brothers and sisters will need many more individuals, as are at present the staunch soldiers of the 11:11 Progress Group, to give direction to those who will find themselves floundering in the likely difficult days ahead.

The Scribe: “My terrestrial experiences here were at times when a written message could only be shown to one person at a time, or perhaps to one or two more. Look at the wonderful advantage you have today! You ‘scribe’ your messages and send them out to so very many all at once! Such progress is made on your planet! Such technical progress—a precursor to the spiritual progress that is to come as more and more in this near-free (almost costless) communication system can grasp another person’s ideas, ideals, and spiritual wonderment.

“We, my dear human friend, are colleagues, nevertheless. I know you as the wandering scribe (see note 1). You know me as the Damascus Scribe. We are colleagues! And so many times in the past without you knowing, our thoughts were One.

“I have visited you through your times of great success.
I have visited you through your times of great distress.
I have visited you on many a day.
I have visited you in both the home and away.
I have been with you when you were a part of the tribe,
And I nursed you when you were just the lonely scribe (see note 2 and 3).

“My dear friend in everything you do, keep in mind that one day, yes, one day in your long career, you and your Thought Adjuster will be one. We shall meet. We shall recognize and greet each other like old friends, and we will be together, exchanging great amounts of our carefully accumulated wisdom, our great experiences, and thoughts of our oneness with all we have come in contact with.

“Do on each day, I plead with you, allow the life-giving peace of your Master, your Father/Brother the Creator Son Michael to rain down on you aplenty. Do allow for Him to hold you close. Do allow Him the knowledge that you feel how much you are cherished. Do continue to be assured by Me and by all your Teachers that, that which you are doing is essential, is important, and as dear Machiventa once explained, once commented, perhaps even critical.

“This is your doting friend, The Scribe. Always, whenever the thought occurs to you, call on Me, for I shall be ready to guide you. I shall be ready to hold your hand. I shall be ready to inspire you and always, without a moment’s let up, I shall love you. Do remember to dutifully ‘scribe’ my message, and share it with all.

“I AM The Damascus Scribe.”

George: “Thank you my dear Friend. Thank you kindly.”

Receiver’s notes: (1) The Scribe is referring to “astral travels” and trips abroad. (2) The poem, coming really fast, assured me I was receiving, and did not need to doubt the clarity of the Scribe’s input. (3) The “lonely scribe” comment relates to my documentation of experiences—endless hours without people contact.

The Damascus Scribe (Sananda) is a personalized Thought Adjuster who served on this earth with both, Machiventa Melchizedek, and Jesus the Christ.

The Scribe: “She was youthful, energetic and caring and she needed to be fulfilled in life. For years she had wedged and kneaded clay and turned this material into the most elegant of statues to be fired into stone. However, as she grew older, she also grew tired of this routine, despite those around her expressing their admiration for her artistic work. It was hard for her to see how her many sculptures benefitted her admirers. With that realization she made the sudden decision to produce pots — cooking, storage, eating and drinking vessels. And henceforth her new-found profession brought her great joy. She at last felt she was now contributing.

However, truly, the ability to care is hardly a strictly human aptitude – talent or gift, if you will. Typical of the thousands of mammalian species on your earth, as well as birds and even some fish, caring for and sharing with, even defending another, is well known and understood.

“He was young, strong and he felt his life was all still ahead of him. He would become the best, most called-for sword maker in the county. Each time the mighty hammer collided with the red-hot steel he again assured himself that he was well on his way to become the most sought-after weapons smith in the district. Some, distantly beyond the borders of his land, were placing orders for his well-balanced, razor-sharp arms and paying him well above their real value. Then war came to the land and the sword-maker learned of what his weapons had done. Soon he was satisfied to make hoops for kegs, horseshoes and nails.

The weapons smith felt the pain and torture suffered by all those who were killed and maimed by his excellent weaponry Henceforth he prided himself on being a contributor to the welfare of those around him by supplying all and sundry with the mundane and every-day goods his forge surrendered.”

George: “You have not answered my question. Did the Master arrive on this planet too late or too early considering 2000 years went by during which the Thought Adjuster (TA) remained a virtual unknown? That was 2000 years of missing self-actualisation, as I see it.”

The Scribe: “The Master was right on time, I say. You all were ready for Him then, whilst His tax collector, boat builders and fishermen were rather incapable of comprehending the potential TA presence in mankind. Always bring to mind that ever since the Lucifer debacle the Father of All was blamed for everything that went wrong and such being an act of God. Nothing is stopping you 11:11 Progress men and women now of making a job of the TA’s reality . . . and you are doing just that in your genuine process of self-actualisation as only humans will fuse with an individual particle of the Gods!

“I AM the Damascus Scribe, always happy to visit here.”

Subject: “No Offence and No More Lucifer.”

Message received by George Barnard.

George: “I think I might have offended you when last we spoke.”

The Scribe: “In all the time I have known you, which is many years longer than you have known Me, you have never offended Me. You see, as a Child of the All-that-Is in all of His universes, I can no more be offended by you than can He or can Michael. It is for the Gods to know the very reason why you do what you do, or say what you say, before you do it or say it. Yes, and even if you meant to offend us, we just could not be offended.

“You see, my friend, we created the space-time playground and placed you all in there to have you experience mortal life. You cannot know what we know, you must find out in time and We, Thought Adjusters, at least for a time, experience life with you. For all of you, in time, to be just like us is what we aim for and meanwhile we simply take what we get: no offence. The Gods are your true examples in life — all loving, understanding and patient.

“It is my deeply-felt view that in both, our 11:11 Progress Group publications and our private conversations, the mention of the sordid Lucifer Rebellion has been, hmm . . . done to death. And yes, life on this planet is tough. And as you often say; ‘we know this already,’ and I acknowledge that, too. Still, the rewards are commensurately in line with the toughness of existing on this planet. So, let us say this is Urantia, unlike any other sweet and happy world and let’s see if we all will make it or break it.

George: “OK. Just take it as it comes.”

The Scribe: “Precisely. I assure you that this planet is seen by many deeply involved celestials as one of the most successful nurseries to produce useful eternal lives and that many, truly many spiritual giants with their Urantia ‘birth certificates’ (He made receiver laugh) are on their way to becoming the most valued Advisors, Princes, Ambassadors and Helpers of the deep-space universes the Father will populate. You will one day have nothing but praise for the accidental testing ground that was Urantia.

“May you fare well. I Am the Damascus Scribe.”

George: “Thank you Teach. Come back soon.”

The Scribe: “We have given your subscriber’s request lengthy but adequate thought. We take into consideration that we have an acceptable method of explaining to you how we consider your world’s preparedness for the introduction of new revelation to be sufficient.

“Firstly, however, the Creator, Michael, His being a God, knew He would die on the cross. As a human, Jesus, and for the longest time, did not and could not know what awaited Him. Only toward the end did the Human/God, Creator/Man, understand His choice of departure from this world as being significant enough and of great impact together with his glorious resurrection to become an overall major plus for Him to ‘live on’ in the lives of His believers, His followers and many, many others.

“You, my student, might have decided that it was the wrong time for Michael to come to earth but although you can foresee, you don’t do this very well. No mortel does. What I am endeavoring to explain to you here is that there is a right time to trigger and aid a spiritual advance if we can foresee a positive result for our efforts. There would be no failure! The God/Man, Jesus has hardly been forgotten on this planet. To the contrary, His popularity has grown. There was one serious failure, however, and that deals with the indwelling Father Fragment. The most delightful news about the Thought Adjuster (TA) became lost.

“Always bear in mind that to those on High, time is not all that important. It’s only some 2000 years since your Creator walked this earth and in the meantime the knowledge of the TA has not been altogether lost. It was not altogether understood either and from ancient times the Creator of all was ‘an angry, jealous God’. What is more, many of the early priests thought themselves to be indwelt but not so the members of their congregations and that was often partly true. Thus common people were often seen more like the animals by the priests, who saw themselves more like royalty, sometimes above royalty.

“Since the indwelling Adjuster is the forgotten part of Michael’s message to you all, I charge you all, you 11:11 associated receivers to all do your best in spreading the word, like Jesus did, that the Father is all love and lives in all.

“I AM the Scribe of Damascus and so far I notice that I still own My town. Be blessed, be true. Good day.”

The Scribe: “We have spoken with you in the past about Mansion-World Care. Perhaps at this moment in time we can manage to ‘come a little closer’ to giving you a better understanding of what the Mansion World Spheres have to offer, especially to those souls that are making their way from the worlds held back by rebellion. However, not only your kinds of (rebellious) worlds, but many newly populated ones fall into the category that need extra loving care for former humans to later flourish in the hereafter.

(A lengthy question is here asked but the sound is all but lost — something to do with how troubled Urantians are compared to most other humans).

“Absolutely! You have heard of the term, ‘Heaven on Earth?’ Does this look like heaven on our earth? No, nothing like it. Far from it. And when your new body comes to life in the Resurrection Halls of Mansonia One, your experiences have already been told in rather great detail and the potential difficulties in you making a success of your new Mansion World life will have been assessed. A Carer — a Mansion World Carer — will have already been appointed and such kind of specialists can be encountered anywhere in our universes.

“We are not blind, my friend. We know you live in circumstances far from ideal in your western world, whilst the majority envies you for you ‘having it so good.’ True, there are some among us whom you may see as ‘cold’ by virtue of the specific tasks they perform, but their use of time is measured, efficient and their mannerisms may seem short and to-the-point. Most of those you will be dealing with will be ever so thoughtful and patient, yes, sincere in their ways and this is what we will ask of you former humans, sincerity, sincerity, sincerity.

“One may be considered to be a great spiritual mind whilst dwelling on this planet. Another might well be classed as, what you call, a spiritual novice, not at all interested in anything spiritual, just wishing to live on when it is time to die. Chances are both individuals will be taught in the same Mansonia classrooms because, you see, there’s really no great difference between these two from ‘heaven’s’ point of view.

“To answer you both more clearly, yes, Urantians and almost all who hail from the worlds of rebellion, require a lot of care, but after that they tend to outperform most others. Consider yourself lucky to be toughened, yes, hardened by such a troubled world.

“I am the Damascus Scribe.”

The Scribe: “Forever is a term that easily enters a human mind and effortlessly darts out from a slippery tongue, but is it easy to comprehend? The jovial terms ‘forever and three more days,’ or ‘forever and a long weekend,’ point at some difficulties in your comprehending the concept ‘Forever.’

“Comparatively, the life span of your 2000- or 3000-year-old Huon pines is no more than the moment it takes to blink your eyes just once and ditto for your ‘timeless’ pyramids that long ago rose from the desert sands. ‘Forever’ is an enormous length of time! I recently explained to you, and to all who wished to hear, that despite this planet having some billions of human citizens living upon her, not one of you truly can know all there is to know about God. Likewise are you unable to fully comprehend ‘Forever.’

“I know what eternity is all about, because I am the Damascus Scribe — a Splinter, a perfect Fragment of the Creator Father, who made space-time come about. And I am here to tell you that your very own, yes, your very personal forever, has a most vital beginning.

“In comparison to all the experience you will acquire in eternity, your ‘few short days’ spent on Urantia will be most important in your life’s careers. Your earth life will ‘set the tone’ for all that comes later, as the Father and all others, who will help determine your eternal careers with you, will eye your earlier earthly honesty and diligence, helpfulness and respect for God and all kin, in their knowing so well that which came before will also surely come later. Yes, they always were your earthly ways that determined your future trusts in co-creation with the Father.

“There is a-nothing-more-common happening on Mansonia One than your hearing the oft-expressed view that ‘if only I had known’ and ‘if only I had listened.’ Life on an evolutionary time-space rock is only a day’s work compared to ‘forever after.’ Do this well and the future lifetime dividends will be generous and eternal.

“Meanwhile count on Me for all the answers you may need. I Am the Damascus Scribe.”
