Thought Adjuster: “It is very easy for human beings to set limits for themselves. Every time a level of achievement is reached, it is natural to want to remain there for a moment, in that comfort zone. This makes sense in a way and is even desirable, as it allows time to replenish energy and prepare for the greater challenges that lie ahead. However, human beings tend to become accustomed very quickly to their situation and prefer the inertia of the familiar over the dynamism of change and the new problems that need to be solved.

Anyone who wishes to grow spiritually must become accustomed to the unknown and to the increasing challenges that arise from the tension of bringing an almost animal being to the shores of perfection. There are many things within you that you have acquired through your experience in this world, and although they have served as a foundation for this life, you will need to leave them behind in order to rise above your material origin. It is sometimes very difficult to let go of these attitudes, behaviors, habits, customs, and beliefs, as they were acquired at a cost and hold some value for the individual. However, everything you give up in this world for the goal of achieving perfection and finding God will be replaced by better, higher, and more beautiful things.

Strive to achieve a balance in your spiritual progress. Move forward with the necessary caution to properly learn the previous lessons before venturing to face greater challenges, lest in your haste you cause your own failure. But also, be aware that every time you have completed a stage and learned a lesson, it is time to prepare for a new adventure that will bring you closer to truth and to the highest expression of your being, one that more resembles the Father. Above all, do not let the fear of making mistakes paralyze you, for the mistakes in human life are the most powerful lessons you can carry with you into eternity.

Also, remember that the preferred educational method in the universes is learning-through-teaching. Learn all you can from those who have walked the path before you and who can inspire you with their examples of devotion to the Father’s will and lives filled with spiritual wisdom. Likewise, consider those who come after you, confused and with uncertain steps, and do all you can to provide stability for their journey and an example of achievement—of what a creature can reach when striving to express the best of themselves and to emulate their heavenly Father. Every effort you make to uplift your brothers and sisters who are unknowingly seeking what you have already attained will be a great offering from you to creation and the Creator. After all, isn’t one of the Father’s main endeavors the elevation of His ascending children? It makes sense, then, that you should also collaborate in this endeavor and contribute through your creative efforts to the fulfillment of the Father’s glorious plans for His creation—the divine will of God.”

Thought Adjuster: “Any activity that 'hijacks' the human mind and draws it away from its highest purpose—being an agent for the perfection of personality—can be considered a vice. Ideally, your mind should be completely free to engage in activities that foster the best of your personality. This is the greatest freedom of the human mind: the freedom to work toward building the new perfected being that every personality is destined to become—if it so chooses.

Make an effort to remove these vices. It is worth noting that rest and activities aimed at sustaining material life do not fall into this category—unless a creature allows these activities to become the focus of her existence. Working to live is an important and necessary task, and it can become a noble effort when a person performs their job as if it were a service to the Father and others. However, if that person makes work their main priority, forgetting about other areas of life, then work becomes degraded and turns into a vice. Those who neglect relationships with their family and others, using work responsibilities as an excuse, are placing obstacles in their path toward spiritual progress.

Many necessary human enterprises can easily become vices. The key to avoiding this trap is balance—maintaining equilibrium among the various areas of life so that none are neglected. You came into this world to learn from a wide range of experiences. Do not limit your experiences by specializing too much in just one thing. This imbalance is what causes emerging spirituality to devolve into blind fanaticism.

The best thing to remember is that, during material life, at no point do you possess the whole truth or master the full range of experience. You may have your own ideas about reality—your models and theories to explain the world and to guide your decisions and actions—but maintain a degree of flexibility, knowing that you are not yet perfect and that there may still be new things to learn or adjustments to make to the truths you believe you understand.

Such is the life of creatures who forge their perfection through experience. At some point in the eternal future, you will have participated in all the experiences that allowed you to come to know your Heavenly Father more intimately, and that revealed His nature to you in such a way that your only desire will be to resemble Him and emulate His divinity in your own life. This is the most glorious desire and the loftiest goal of a human being, and it requires continual adjustments and a dynamic, inexhaustible faith to overcome the material limitations of human origin and to acquire eternal attributes of perfection.”
