Teacher Ophelius: “The message for today is about the quiescence of the soul. What do I mean by this? So much of who and what you are becoming develops in the quiet moments of living – those times when you stop and reflect on the lessons of life: the love that was shared between friends, the forgiveness and mercy shown to those who are less developed in their thinking, and ultimately the time you spend in quiet contemplation and meditation in communion with the Creator and the Indwelling Spirit. These my friends are the growth moments of the soul – a time to slow down and feed the soul child by allowing the quiescence to bring together all of the survival value experiences of life to settle into the emergence of transcendent personality.

“Self-mastery can only be achieved in the quiet reflection of past mistakes and lessons learned, while at the same time, your mind and your thoughts shift in contemplation of new ways to approach old problems. There is no better way that one can accelerate soul growth and progress forward than to set aside time to go into this quiescence of mind and sort out the meanings of life. It should be as natural and needful as going to the well to hydrate the body, for it truly does feed the soul.

“Have you become to busy in life? Do you feel that you have lost that special connection you once had with God because you let the world and life circumstances control you instead of you controlling the circumstances? The Universal Father has not gone anywhere and His love for you is constant and affectionate. He is waiting for you to open the door to your heart by making space for Him in your mind through the quiescence of being present in the moment and turning off all the distractions of material living.

“Go there right now, my friends, to this quiescent zone where only you and the Creator are. No words need be spoken – just ‘be’ in the moment with God and let His parental love for you wash over you to nourish your soul and give rest to your mind. Drink it all in and give to God all your worries and anxieties; your hopes and dreams; your thanks and gratitude for the life He has given you to experience love and to share that love with others. Retreat my friends, into this quiet place and into this space where the soul lives and breathes, for to live life without it is to really have no life at all.

“Wherever you find yourself, you can go into this quiescence and be one in the moment with God and reconnect yourself to the source of all life. There you will find the strength and the courage to complete your life mission and to discover the astonishment, the truth, the beauty, and the goodness of all the things God has created for you to experience as you make your way home to your final embrace.

Teacher Ophelius: “‘Those who would have friends must find themselves friendly.’ These are the words of the Master as he was asked by his young traveling companion how it was that He could so easily make friends with new acquaintances. The Master went on to explain to the lad that you must become curious and interested in those things that are important to the individual and to get them to talk about themselves. Jesus wanted to know how men felt and how they thought about themselves and about the world around them. He was truly interested in them and when someone finds that you are interested in them, they will open up and connect with you because they feel safe that they can share their thoughts and feelings without being judged. It is important for you students on the path, if you are to be truly effective as the torch bearers of truth in a dark world that you ‘find yourselves friendly.’

“You cannot be a light if you ‘hide your lamp under a bed,’ and so you must put it on a lamp stand where it can be seen by everyone. If you only associate with those who are like you, then you may find that your circle of friends is small and all those wonderful qualities that you have within you may not be shared with those who are searching for light. My friends, there are so many on your world who do not have a clue about the things of spirit, yet they are searching for it and do not yet realize it. How then will they find this light if those who have it move through the world with ‘tight lips?’ Certainly you must use your discernment when choosing what to share and how much, yet you can open the door to those higher truths first by being interested in what others think and feel.

“If you are blessed to have found yourself on this higher path, then find it within you to make new friends and to be an example of someone who is friendly and who can connect with others without judging them. You may find that some are too far away from you in their values and beliefs, and only a surface relationship is possible, yet there may come a time when those you have befriended will reach out to you because their thirsting souls, having been tested by the circumstances of time, will then recognize the light within you.

“If you are looking for kindred spirits, how then will you find them except that you practice the art of friendliness and become truly curious and interested in others’ thoughts and feelings? This is how you find them, my friends, and this is how you ‘set your orbits’ of relationships – those who are closer to you as intimate kindred spirits and those that are farther away – which you continue to hold in your ‘gravity.’

“Relationships are the soul-treasure of eternity, for it is in your life purpose to have a diversity of experiences and relationships that teach you how to discover those hidden layers of love that exist everywhere in the universe. Seek for those golden nuggets, my friends, by discovering the hidden treasures within your fellows, and by doing so, you may discover some hidden layer of love within you that you did not know was there.

Teacher Uteah: My Dear Students,
Many of you are enthusiastic about working directly with your Thought Adjuster (TA) — to attune and to consecrate your will that you may advance and progress in your spiritual understanding of the Divine Gift. This is a needful attitude — to hold the constancy of the Indwelling Spirit of the Universal Father living and working in your mind — leading you to discover the untapped potentials as a future Finalitor destined to stand before the Universal Father on Paradise. Holding this long-range view is essential, but to actuate your budding potentials, here and now, requires you to experience the co-ordinate and co-creative aspects of a spirit-led life.

What exactly does this mean? Many of you are unsure how to approach a relationship with the Thought Adjuster because you don’t have a clear understanding of the application. This is understandable because your world is largely ignorant of the knowledge and framework of universe cosmology and deity expression; universe destiny; and soul evolution. You students are fortunate that you have discovered the Urantia Papers and have detailed knowledge of the purpose and ministry of the Thought Adjusters. Yet knowledge alone cannot mature the personality and bring you into attunement, or ascertain your Psychic Circles assuring your survival and passage to the shores of mansion world life. Only living experience can transcend the virtual destinies you see in the constructs of your mind and build the Morontia reality of a surviving soul.

Example: A medical student can only spend a limited amount of time in study, and must, at some point, demonstrate what he has learned and apply that knowledge on the healing of patients. It is through the transcending experience of application and interaction with real people and their needs that experience turns into wisdom. The decisions along the way that lead to progress in good medical practice become the basis for future decision making in diverse problem solving. A “good doctor” is someone who “practices” and becomes wise in the diagnosis of disease because of diverse experience and the decisions made that led to successful outcomes in past applications.

In the spiritual sense, the application of soul building and personality maturity requires you to “practice” the application of peace, love, and understanding as you live, work, and play with your fellows. The thought processes and the decisions made along the way is where the relationship with the Thought Adjuster can be more clearly understood. This is where the TA inserts divine application. It requires you to “think” not react. Thoughts come before decisions and actions. The TA “adjusts” your thoughts, so it must be that before you decide or act, you must think. To have a relationship with your TA requires you to be conscious of the presence of the Divine Indwelling, then to bring the TA into the process of thinking before decisions and actions.

You may not audibly hear your TA speak, but as you think and weigh all the options, your TA may insert subtle guidance using feelings, ideas, and imagery that leads to an outcome of higher good. The practice of inner dialog with the TA while in deep thought shall produce greater and greater results as you learn to trust in these co-creative thoughts; subtle feelings; and imaginings — this is divine leading!

Go now into that place where the TA speaks — into deep thought — asking questions — seeking answers — contemplating your future growth — your hopes and dreams — your next creation!
