Thought Adjuster: “The Father, as well as Michael and Nebadonia—including the Eternal Son and the Infinite Spirit as well—are always attentive to every spiritual impulse of worship that arises from their creatures. The Father, who dwells within the human soul, is especially sensitive to these impulses of worship and to the longing for His presence experienced by His mortal children. These are the moments when the soul is receptive and the doors of the mind are opened to receive spiritual influences. And you always receive something. It may not be something immediately available to your mortal consciousness, but a response always occurs to every impulse of worship that is born within your soul.
Although the Father and the other spiritual influences are always "transmitting" their signals, it is you, through your own will, who decides when you will accept these spiritual transmissions. That is why the soul's sincere desire is so important for spiritual progress. Simply saying that you want to become a better person is not enough. Only when, in the depths of your soul, you truly feel the desire to find the Father, to come to know Him, and eventually to be inspired to imitate Him, do you have the necessary evidence to understand that you have opened the channels of communication with Him.
Here, then, is the clearest demonstration of spiritual progress. True spiritual progress does not occur solely through the desires of the human will. Human desires make it possible, but these desires require the corresponding influence of the Father—through your Thought Adjuster—to provide the soul with what it needs to grow. Without this spiritual influence, the progress of a mortal would be impossible. How could you grow in spirit if you lacked spiritual nourishment? Human desires that pursue a chimera or a falsehood sooner or later reveal their emptiness because they produce no lasting results. The sincere desire of a human soul to become better and to know God always produces results that can be seen in the life experience of those adventurous and sincere souls.
You already possess experiences that can demonstrate to you that you have chosen the right path. Although you have not yet reached the pinnacle of spiritual development possible for a human being, you have taken several steps forward, and you can see how your longings have been rewarded, how your desire to find God is, in some way, being answered. Do you not know Me better today than at any previous time in your life? In the past, theological or metaphysical writings may have shaken your beliefs and changed your opinions. Today, you enjoy a certain mental clarity that provides the steadfastness of a faith that cannot be so easily shaken—a faith that is also dynamic, capable of adapting to new ideas and new discoveries that you make each day as you continue to nourish your soul's desire to draw closer to God and to your own perfection.
This is the difference between true religion—that which brings human beings closer to God—and intellectual religions. Human religions often betray their mission because they become preoccupied with preserving and transmitting doctrines, dogmas, and rituals, while neglecting to nourish the human desire to draw closer to the heavenly Father. When this happens, their followers fail to receive the inspiration needed to show them that there is something genuinely valuable in their religion. Some will abandon the effort in disappointment, while others will remain bound to their traditions out of a desire to belong to a group or because of an intellectual and spiritual laziness that prevents them from exploring alternatives.
However, when the sincere desire to find God is born within the human soul, it matters little which religion a person professes. For a soul that sincerely seeks, all the religions of the world that worship one God or a Universal Father contain enough truth to nourish sincere souls. These curious and yearning souls will know how to find what they need among the pages and teachings of their respective religions, and they will even be able to recognize the truth in other religions, for they have connected with the Source of Truth. Their minds are now guided not by the suggestions of their fellow human beings, but by their own inner spiritual compass—their Thought Adjuster and the Spirit of Truth—which will continually show them the true path.”
