Thought Adjuster: “Sometimes you worry about the speed of your spiritual progress. Remember that impatience has no place in the life of the children of God. You can always adjust your path and refine your decisions so as to draw ever closer to the Father’s will. It does not matter whether you arrive early or late; when you enter the kingdom, your rights as a child of God will be the same as those of those who have been there longer. It is difficult for a mortal to understand the irrelevance of time while at the same time recognizing its value in providing the opportunities for learning that foster the growth of an immortal soul.

However, the fact that time is not as restrictive an element as you sometimes consider it to be does not in the least mean that procrastination is the best path to follow. When you have a decision to make, a task to perform, or a duty to fulfill, devote yourself to the task at hand, without haste but with determination, for it is precisely these events in life that conceal the greatest lessons, even those of eternal value, which bring you a little closer to the goal of perfection.

You can be certain that anyone who sincerely desires in their heart to offer service to the Father and to their fellow human beings will have abundant opportunities to do so. Inspiring others to seek the light within themselves is the most important mission of every human being, and when you help someone by showing them the path to take, you are truly offering a great service to humanity. Yes, you are doing what is expected of you, and you are also doing what your soul most deeply longs for—that desire which your Adjuster has wisely and lovingly planted within you.

You should also know by now that the will of God is not a mystery to children who sincerely seek it. His desire and command is that His mortal children be perfect, even as He is perfect. This is an exhortation for you to strive every day to make decisions that are increasingly higher, wiser, and filled with truth, beauty, and goodness. Do this daily, at every opportunity, and you will truly be devoted to the Father’s will.

Learn also to set aside those expectations of yours—nurtured by your culture and your environment—so that you may free yourself from prejudices and see with new eyes the opportunities that present themselves to you. The work of the kingdom is often silent and anonymous, the effort of one who loves so deeply that they expect nothing in return, simply because they have understood the truth: that the greatest good—the good of all equally—is the best destiny for this world, for its civilization, for every individual, and even for oneself. This service will provide you with wisdom and experiences that will be more useful in preparing you for your future life beyond this world.

The things that are truly great in the eyes of the spirit are not the same as the things considered great in the eyes of men. The path toward perfection and an ever-growing understanding of the will of God is hidden in the everyday and the possible, in those things that you experience each day. Therefore, you do not have to perform materially glorious deeds in order to achieve spiritual growth. It is simply a matter of living each day, wherever you are, in the best way possible. This is attainable and available to everyone, and although it is truly the path with the greatest challenges, it is also the one that produces the greatest satisfaction and the truest joys—the path upon which you will look back from your life beyond the material with pride, knowing that you created a truly great life in the eyes of your heavenly Father.”
