Prolotheos: “Religion, defined in terms of evolution, came into existence together with the primates’ attainment of personality will. Will came to human beings concomitantly with the function of the last two Adjutant Mind Spirits, wisdom and worship. And being the last, they opened way for the appearance of religion in human life. Religion is the capacity to believe in the transcendental, even if the object of this belief is not accurate. Exercising this new faculty, which may be called faith, makes man a religious being. Today we are going to study the manifestation of religion in human life. Here are its major aspects:

“Institutional Religion: Here, religion becomes an organization, reaching social and political arenas. It not only regulates religion, but also social life and politics, becoming even a state religion, as was the Imperial Roman religion and its successor, the Roman Catholic Church of today — the Vatican State. Religion, then, is a means to control and it has little to do with real faith and devotion. It occupies itself with creeds, written confessions, dogmas, encyclicals, and more. Institutional religion is a scaffolding necessity in human development, but the day will come when ‘you won’t worship God neither in Jerusalem nor Gerasim, but in Spirit and Truth.’

“Ceremonial Religion: Ritual in religion serves to compensate for lack of spirituality, to uniform and control people — usually by a priestly hierarchy. Evolutionary religion inherited its rituals from the ghost cults. The living feared the dead, molding their lifestyle by copying their lives and ritualizing them. Ceremonial religion tends to become meaningless when the ritual is performed for its own sake, without spiritual power. Ceremonial religion sometimes becomes a misguided religious duty the religionist believes to be owing to Deity as an offering, usually in trying not incur its wrath. Little or no spirituality can be manifested through stylized religious rituals.

“Personal Religion. Worship is the highest form of personal religion, but petitions, gratitude, intercessory prayers also can express real spirituality, if they are not mere repetitions. Personal religion is by nature an enlightening religion; it promotes spiritual growth and spiritual sensitivity. However, personal religion can also become meaningless when the individual ‘overloads’ it with mysticism, fantasizing or fanatizing the faith, sometimes to the degree of delusion, paranoia. Religion then becomes a personal drug. Personal and authentic religion is what really counts in acquiring a spiritual status before God. Personal devotion is the only religion that the Spirit Within fosters in the human mind.

“So, my pupil, religion is so relevant to human beings that it requires the exercise of all human faculties — especially worship. Certainly it is the most important dimension in human beings because on it depends their eternal survival. Exercising religion with devotion, actual faith, but balancing it with all other fields of life prevents a life sterile of spirituality or a spirituality exacerbated by fanaticism. Religion is not a divinely manipulated function; rather, it is sponsored by the Spirit Within with revelations for man’s spiritual growth. Prolotheos: “Ethics are principles that regulate individual behavior in life. Naturally, ethics are dictated by one’s conscience but they can also spring from assorted philosophies or some religious beliefs. Indeed, ethics presuppose the promotion of a better human behavior in society and to contribute to common welfare. Thus, there can exist different kinds of ethics according to various philosophies or beliefs that validate different types of behavior. The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth represent the ethics of the Kingdom of God which He proclaimed on Urantia. If we could mention three important postulates of the Kingdom of God’s ethics, which would they be?

Being Humble. “Oftentimes, especially in success-driven-societies such as most of the Urantian societies, humility is comparable to weakness and a cowardly attitude in life. This is far from the truth. Humbleness certainly is the opposite of arrogance but it is not in any way synonymous with inferiority. Jesus was the humblest person who ever lived on your world and He was the furthest from either being weak or being a coward. In the evolutionary realm, the genuine humble one recognizes his or her weaknesses as well as those personality skills that bring personal distinction. However, he or she consistently refuses to use them for self-aggrandizement but rather, steadily employs them to promote other people’s well-being.

Being Considerate. “Kind consideration to others, especially to those underprivileged in any way, is basic in the principles extensively taught by Jesus: unselfishness, the noble attitude of putting others’ interests before one’s own. Being considerate, on the one hand, is refusing to make use of manipulation, deceptiveness, and coercion or similar in dealing with others. On the other hand, being considerate also seeks to protect others from evildoers’ malice and from their own naivety and misguided actions, without patronizing them. Those considerate of others kindly think of a fellow’s disadvantageous conditions and try to find ways of compensating them to their benefit.

Being Helpful. “Being helpful is more than merely being moved by pity. Pity may be caused by your observing of the helpless condition of somebody and a desire to alleviate such a plight. Being helpful may include these aspects but it is not satisfied by simple alleviation, rather by trying to be instrumental in an effective and lasting change in people’s condition beyond the immediate aspects, and towards a self-sustaining state. To be helpful includes acting with sensitivity, to neither be forceful nor humiliating towards the person being assisted. One should always respect people’s will and dignity to be really helpful.

“In this way, my pupil, the ethics of the Kingdom of God, are reflections of the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth on Urantia. Some of these ethical commands are humility, consideration and helpfulness. It can easily be noted that these three principles reflect the commandment of loving your neighbor. The ethics of the Kingdom value solidarity, love and respect as the means to build a Brotherhood-Sisterhood on Urantia based on the Fatherhood of God. Ethics are principles to be held in whatever circumstances you experience. I am Prolotheos your tutor on High. Peace.”

Monjoronson: “My child, it is a pleasure for me to formally enter into contact with you for the very first time on this tropical afternoon. Do not worry about what you may call me. I do have several names, and even more to be given to me in the future. On each planet and according to the geographic regions where an Avonal Son appears on His mission, he may receive different names and titles. Call me what you like best, your respect and love I can feel through your spiritual vibration.

“You are already instructed about the function of a magisterial mission on the evolutionary worlds, so I don’t need to tell you about this. However, it needs to be understood that no two magisterial missions are identical, as you can imagine. And, given the particular spiritual conditions of this sphere, being so marred by rebellion, and being further exceptionally blessed with the distinct honor of your Sovereign Christ Michael coming to it in His last bestowal for the acquisition of total sovereignty of His Universe of Nebadon, make my presence and mission on Urantia even more distinct and special.

“That is the reason why I came to this planet, even still in my usual form, not yet as a male of the realm — to help you with Michael’s restoration program, the Correcting Time, and for me to get more closely acquainted with the spiritual condition of your world.

“Several years have passed in your regular calendar since my presence first became known on Urantia when the spiritual circuits started to function again. The most useful event to the Correction Time, besides the re-opening of the spiritual circuits and the arrival of Machiventa Melchizedek, was the crescent online divulgation of the Urantia Papers, which allowed this revelation and the new spirituality that it brings, to expand all over the world, as it is happening even more intensively now. During these years, I have contacted many groups and individuals all over the planet with diverse degrees of success.

“I also have, as part of my acquaintance with your ways, followed your current events, both social and political to weigh their spiritual importance and more precisely, to define my strategies. My staff is not yet complete as this was only an exploratory descent, but rest assured that my full magisterial manifestation is now in its final preparatory stage.

“My child, you have lately received from several sources the information of what was still to be restored about the final improvement of the circuits on Urantia, now finally completed. That is an important mark for my full manifestation, together with the recent cleansing done of the Urantia Borderland, mostly executed by your Progress Group. There still remain some social and political obstacles that are preventing the immediate launch of my full mission, but, do not worry, the Constellation Fathers are already taking care of these details, and be they small or major ones, the time will come when they too will unfailingly align with the celestial plans and my action will then be fully liberated.

“Continue with your work, my child, keep it up, and especially now when the time is approaching and the spiritual conditions are more open. I have been with you for years already, and when the time comes, you, my child, certainly will know about it. Peace from the Magisterial Mission soon to be in full motion on your world.”

Prolotheos: “Human beings enjoy free will to choose their own destinies, yet often manage to operate well beyond the limit of their prerogatives. However, at the end of the day they are finite creatures existing in a finite Universe, ruled by an infinite and sovereign God.

“The pendulum of finite reality may experience swing after swing from progression to regression and back again, and yet ultimately the perfect will of God will prevail – a wonderful adventure He proposed for Himself – to experience the myriad experiences of His own creatures.

“In theory, no change can ever exist with the Eternal, Infinite and Perfect God. If considered exclusively in absolute sense, creation could never exist as a new thing. Here, the concepts of potentialities and inevitabilities are useful to understand the ‘actions of God’. In God, realities can be seen as existential, actual and potential. These all manifest God, but in different ways. Existentials are the primary and ontological attributes of God that make Him the infinite I AM. Actuals are potentials that are actualized as inevitabilities, out of His infinite possibilities. It’s due to this eternal dynamics that God is He, and is not His Creation (the alter reality)

“To bring the inevitabilities of God to our practical relationship with Him, let us talk about God’s will, love and justice. The will of God is inevitable because He is a person. Only a personal God could create personal beings. We all have to face the fact that there is a Sovereign Will ruling the Universe, to which we are all willingly drawn to submit.

“God’s love is inescapable. It tells us that God is a good God. Neither a thing nor creature in this vast Universe is deprived of God’s love, which permeates all. Evil does not preclude the presence of God’s love. Rather it becomes more evident that ‘where evil abounds, love abounds more strongly’. God’s love is contagious and attractive, but never forcibly manipulated. God never ceases to love us, even if we cease to love Him. God’s love is inevitable, and impossible to hide from.

“The justice of God is inevitable, but never a punishment. Justice, as the word suggests, is an adjustment. God’s justice is His way of adjusting all things to His loving and perfect will. God’s justice is rooted in His primacy to all. There is a tension between the perfect love of God and His perfect justice, which is solved by His perfect mercy. Justice is fair, but mercy is beyond fairness – it is forgiveness, patience, long suffering, enough to bring humans to acknowledge (and if they want to accept this) the goodness of God. Mercy, however, is not endless. When all mercy is reject, humans will face the fair, inevitable and final justice of God – to which they do willingly submit themselves.

“Human beings are not an accident, or a product of chance, but inevitabilities of the will of God, invited to become His partners in co-creation, which alone makes life worthwhile. I am Prolotheos, your tutor and teacher on high, always within reach of a single inviting thought.”

Secondly, Christ Michael is a Savior by His Intervention on the Lucifer Rebellion

Prolotheos: “When the Lucifer Rebellion broke out in Nebadon, more specifically in the Satania System, through its then System Governor, Lucifer, Michael elected to remain aloof to it and let Gabriel deal with it. While Michael, through Gabriel and with the help of the Constellation Fathers and even from Uversa, took measures to avoid the freely spreading of the Rebellion beyond the System of Satania, Christ Michael planned more broadly healing measures to happen later in connection with His last bestowal, the one necessarily through incarnation by human birth, on Urantia, so it could be effective not only in that system but beneficial even for all His on-looking Universe of Nebadon. When incarnated on Urantia as Jesus of Nazareth, Christ Michael discussed the Rebellion with Lucifer and Caligastia and offered them each a pardon and rehabilitation if they would only repent and accept His pardon; but they didn’t. However, on acquiring total sovereignty from the Father over His own created Universe, Christ Michael forever settled the destiny of that perverse rebellion against His governing. And in doing that He deposed both Lucifer and Caligastia from the positions they had and He became the new Prince of Urantia. In this way, Christ Michael saved you from the misguided, usurped and perverse governing of Caligastia, Lucifer, and his associates in Urantia. Therefore, Christ Michael is a savior, especially for you Urantians, because he freed you from the deleterious government of the usurper Caligastia, on Urantia known as the Devil.

Thirdly, Christ Michael is a Savior by His Perfect and Paradigmatic Life of Jesus of Nazareth on Urantia.

“All life in this Universe of Nebadon, came to reality by the conjoint ministry of the Creator Son Christ Michael and His Consort Nebadonia, the Mother Spirit of Nebadon. However, the spiritual seed that inhabits the mind of all normal human being in Urantia comes at the age of reason, through the Spirit Adjuster causing the birth of the human morontial soul in the individual. Notwithstand, there is a sense in which the Life of Jesus of Nazareth has a saving role in your life, and that is as it became the perfect paradigm for your own life in the doing the will of the Father. He is yours and my highest role model in life. By having Jesus’ life as your spiritual life paradigm you are saved from personality fixation and also, for you too say as he says: “make it Your will, not mine”.

Prolotheos: “The creation of ‘saviors’ is common to most religions and comes from the inability of human beings to deal with guilt about sin and the growth of a consciousness increasingly refined. In Christianity, by means of Paul’s theology and a misconception of Jesus’ ministry by the Twelve, the idea of Jesus Christ as a Savior came out mixed with a horribly mistaken envisioning of the Father spiritually enraged against humanity because of sin and requiring atonement by His Son in order to give salvation. In fact, the Father is not an enraged perfect being against sin and who demands the perfect life of His Son instead of the lives of sinners to grant salvation. Rather, the Father is a loving Creator who lovingly and mercifully offers pardons to His children conditioned upon just faith and the teaching of repentance and obedience. No sacrifice whatsoever is needed. Jesus is not your savior because he died for your sins, neither to satisfy the perfect justice of God. However, there is a way to see Christ Michael, the same that incarnated on Urantia as Jesus of Nazareth, as a Savior — in fact the greatest of all.

Firstly, Christ Michael is a Savior through His Bestowal Program

“Christ Michael has executed seven bestowals; the last one on Urantia when He was born of a woman as Joshua ben Joseph. In each bestowal he assumed the life of one type of His universe sons. These several bestowals had the objective of giving the experience of the creature to the Creator in order to make Him experientially sympathetic, compassionate and identified with them, really knowing the life of His creatures, in order to reign as their absolute Sovereign. The kind of Salvation a Master Son like Christ Michael offers to His creatures is the salvation from existential isolation. Through these bestowals creatures are never again isolated in their inferior condition from the Creator because the Creator became as one of them and lived with them, showing them how to live a perfect life to the Father.

The Spirit Within: “Desire is that function of the will responsible for the impulse that makes all will creatures take the initiatives to accomplish what they want. However, many times human desires are so much fixated that they lose sight of their dimensions and context, becoming plain obsessions of the ego. Obsessions often dominate the mind, becoming a misguided drive for mistaken actions, rushing things to achieve what you desperately but unwisely want. Rushing is sometimes necessary to not lose opportunities. But, all too often, rushing is indeed a foolish thing. I do have a lesson for you today. It is: ‘Rush not, my child!’

“Rush not, but be Wise. You have heard: ‘My people perish for lack of knowledge.’ Indeed, not knowing the real causes, the means and consequences of actions and events may cause adverse results in life. However, to possess knowledge does not automatically secure Wisdom. Wisdom is more than having or processing knowledge, it is to know how to use knowledge correctly. I am a Thought Adjuster; my role in your mind is to adjust your thoughts so I can present you with wise ways to make decisions and carry out actions. Many times my counsel is: ‘It is not the right time.’

“Rush not, but be Patient. Patience is not simply to wait, but rather it is to wait in peace. Impatience is to wait externally but to be rushing within. I can see when the thoughts are boiling in the mind. I can observe the ego’s obsession driving personality energies into consciousness almost uninterruptedly, and interfering with other present activities. Patience is to calmly wait for the right time. Many times you don’t even know in advance when it is the right time. But, do not worry about when times are right. I will let you know when is the precise moment to act.

“Rush not, but be Ready. Readiness takes time, indeed. It helps you to effectively utilize the time at hand to prepare yourself for the goal you have in life. Everything that is worth waiting for is also worth preparing for. Preparation will increase the odds of success in your achieving your objective. If you rush in unprepared, disaster is lurking in the shadows. Many times not being prepared is far worse than your not being able to execute your initiative. Most of my work in the mind is to prepare you — mainly on the sub-conscious level — for your next life.

“Hence, my child, do not rush in; be wise, patient and ready for your time. I am with you all the way. Look back and see how I took my time to guide you in every phase of your life, to bring you to this state, which you yourself recognize as the best of your life. I do not rush. I work with your potentials, and with your decisions, adjusting your thoughts so you can draw on the best of them. I am preparing you and the time will come when both of us will embark on the next step of our journey.”
