Thought Adjuster: “Spiritual enlightenment must be a gradual process. Even if we experience moments of clarity that establish a certain level of understanding, these levels will always be starting points for greater achievements. Our understanding of God is never complete, not even when we reach our ultimate destiny and attain His personal presence, for many more things about the Father and His creation will be revealed during our eternal future of universal service.
In the life of Jesus, we observe how a man attained divine perfection during a short human lifetime. There was nothing supernatural about this progression, which was truly evolutionary. Jesus entered this world just as many other human beings have done, as a helpless and nearly unconscious infant. Gradually, He gained mastery over His mind, and the adjutant mind spirits began to function within Him in the same way they do in all other human beings.
Jesus had the advantage of possessing a strong spiritual interest, and because of this, the mental influence of His helpers—especially the spirits of worship and wisdom—was more pronounced and effective. These two spirits made great advances in opening Jesus’ material mind to the realities of the spirit. Again, this is the same work these spirits perform in all human minds. Eventually, Jesus awakened to another reality and transcended His human level, drawing so close to His Father that His spiritual mind gained complete mastery over His material mind, foreshadowing the capacity for fusion with the Thought Adjuster—that is, the complete identification of the human will with the superhuman spiritual will governed by the Father's will. In other words, the highest human will was functioning fully and exercising control over the lower human will.
This journey toward perfection is open to all human beings. The Thought Adjusters, the Spirit of Truth, the Adjutant Mind Spirits, and the Holy Spirit of the local universe begin their years-long—often decades-long—project of opening each mortal's mind to the realities of the spirit. They do this in the manner best suited to each individual human soul, always under the guidance of the Thought Adjuster, who knows the human subject better than anyone else. They accomplish this through natural and evolutionary methods.
Finally, do not forget that all growth is relative. Every level attained is a step on the ladder toward perfection, a temporary foundation upon which you can begin working toward higher achievements that will lead you to the next levels. Rejoice in your present accomplishments, but do not forget the accomplishments of the future. Continue working and striving to become the very best that you are capable of being.”
